Whirlpool being sued

Whirlpool, home to the biggest communications discussion site in Australia has recently been sued for comments made on the discussion forums.
You maybe thinking, “So what?” <_< but yes, since I’m one of those Australian bums, this kinda sticks out to me.
I haven’t been a regular to the site for a long long time now, so I only caught glimpse of this when I randomly decided to see what people were saying about my ISP.
It kind of took me by surprise since I'm stereotypical in the sense that only Amerikan's sue for stupid stuff ;_; but alas, logic has failed me once again... Uuuu.Some links:
