Rose v Camellia

Rose & Camellia is a fun little browser game that’s recently been getting some well deserved attention. I won’t spoil the scintillating plot for you (it’s available for your perusing pleasure on the laudably readable English version of the site), suffice to say that it’s all about the ‘elegant art of feminine conflict’ (read: brutal slap-fight smackdowns between ladies).

As the Sun Tzu-esque subtitle implies, there’s more to it than just E. Honda slapping away at your well-bred nemesis. In true classic gaming tradition, the action takes place through a turn-based battle, with the possibility of scoring some nasty ‘critical slaps’ if you make the right moves.
It’s not exactly a deep game, but the tongue-in-cheek solemnity with which it’s presented makes it irresistibly charming (for best results, imagine all the dialogue being read out loud with BBC period drama accents). When’s the DS port coming out?
